Clan Mackenzie
Genealogical Database

for the Clan Mackenzie Society of Scotland
and the UK:-

War Cry: "Tullach Ard" = "The High Hill" !

I am currently building a Computer Genealogical Database for the Clan MacKenzie Society of Scotland and the UK, using the powerful Family Gathering (TM) genealogy program for Macintosh. I am asking all MacKenzies to take part in this important pioneering project:-

The Clan Mackenzie Society
Computer Genealogical Database.

I have amassed well in excess of a thousand entries and the aim is to build an extensive family tree of the whole clan, reaching from the earliest ancestor to today's new born descendants, therefore I am looking for more genealogical data to add. This will then enable clan MacKenzie genealogists to verify information and to fill in the gaps in their research. Someone out there might just have that vital piece of linkage information which has long since been lost from records in public archives!

If you are interested then please E-mail me your GEDCOM files (GEnealogical Data COMmunications files) as enclosed documents, remembering to let me know which platform you are using, i.e. PC, UNIX or Macintosh (so that I can convert them if necessary) and include the extension ".GIE" at the end of the file name. Alternatively you can send me your written genealogical lists and I will computerise the information for you and send you a copy back in GEDCOM format if you wish.

I also have copies of smaller Shareware genealogical programs for Mac and PC which can produce GEDCOM files, so if you want to get started with Computer Genealogy then E-mail me or post me a couple of 1.44 Mb high density diskettes. E-mail me at:-

Eventually all future clan members will be able to look up their own pedigrees due to the efforts of their pioneering ancestors (See sample lineage of the Mackenzie-Hanson family).
